The record of a patient’s visit to a healthcare provider is required by law and used in communication with other healthcare providers or hospital departments, as well as in the billing process and for historical reference.
Accurate and accessible historical data about a person’s previous conditions, medications, and treatments is vital to supporting quality patient care.
As a result, The U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics projects 3.2 million new health care jobs by 2018 - more than any other industry.
Speech Recognition Technology (SRT) has proven its worth by lowering healthcare costs and providing faster turn-around times. In addition, the technology serves as a bridge to the electronic medical record.
The need for qualified SRT editors is expected to increase in correlation with the growing healthcare demands of an aging population.
This course is a 100% online, and offers the student the opportunity for hands-on practice on 3M’s ChartScript.com platform using authentically speech recognized drafts from genuine physicians.
